The three-star rating might seem modest, but the location is actually pretty smart if you’re not tied to being right downtown. There’s parking everywhere (a blessing if you’ve ever tried to park in the ByWard Market), and you can easily hop on the Queensway to get wherever you need to go.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious — definitely bigger than what you’d get downtown for the same price. Everything feels updated, from the bedding to the bathroom fixtures, and there’s actually decent natural light, which you don’t always get with chain hotels. The Wi-Fi works properly (I know, basic requirement, but you’d be surprised), and the air conditioning is quiet enough that it won’t keep you up. What I really appreciated was the workspace setup — if you need to get some work done, there’s actually room to spread out.

The fitness center is small but functional, and there’s an indoor pool that’s perfect if you’re traveling with kids. For food, the on-site restaurant serves decent casual fare — nothing fancy, but better than I expected. Honestly though, you’re so close to other dining options that you’ll probably want to explore. The Marshes Golf Club is literally next door if you’re into that, and there are several good pubs within walking distance along Terry Fox Drive.
