Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre, you immediately get that polished four-star vibe without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with it. The lobby strikes a nice balance — modern and clean, but not so sleek that you feel like you can’t relax. I mean, it’s clearly a business hotel at heart, but there’s something welcoming about the way they’ve set it up. The staff actually seems to know what they’re doing, which honestly isn’t always a given even with established chains.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about the location on Lyon Street — it’s one of those spots where you can walk to the important stuff without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble. You’re genuinely in the heart of downtown Ottawa, which means Parliament Hill is basically a pleasant stroll away, and the Rideau Centre is close enough that you won’t need a cab. What I really appreciated is how couples seem to love staying here (they rate the location over 9 out of 10), and I get why — there are decent restaurants within walking distance, and you can actually explore the city on foot. The ByWard Market isn’t far either, so you’ve got options for evening plans.
The Room Experience
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star Marriott property — nothing groundbreaking, but everything works the way it should. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What I noticed is that the rooms facing the right direction give you some nice city views, though honestly, Ottawa’s skyline isn’t going to blow you away. The bathrooms are well-designed, and you know what? Sometimes that’s all you need — hot water, good pressure, and enough counter space for your toiletries.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast setup is actually pretty thoughtful — they’ve got the usual buffet situation, but they also cater to vegetarian and vegan guests, which isn’t always easy to find. It’s American-style, so think hearty rather than delicate pastries, but the quality is consistent. One thing that’ll save you some hassle — they have parking available at the hotel, which in downtown Ottawa can be a real headache to figure out on your own. It’s not free (this is downtown, after all), but at least you don’t have to circle blocks looking for a spot.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests keep rating this place highly for location, and after staying here, I understand the appeal. It’s that sweet spot where you’re central enough to walk places, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of being right on top of every tourist attraction. The Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre delivers exactly what it promises — reliable comfort in a spot that makes exploring the city straightforward. For couples especially, there’s something to be said for a hotel where you can grab dinner nearby, take an evening walk, and not feel like you’re missing out on the local scene.
Apartments in Ottawa suit remote workers with co-working lounges, riverfront balconies, and fresh produce from Lansdowne markets.

Overall experience was decent.
Alana from Canada (8/10)
Extremely comfortable beds, and large rooms. My friend was from Europe and she loved the space and that we both had a Queen sized bed. Toiletries available smell very good and I got compliments by some ladies in the elevator." It's the hotel shampoo" I said! We had breakfast in the hotel and both very satisfied and the waiter was great. We didn't opt for the buffet which seemed overpriced. We ordered from the menu.
Pool is amazing! I managed to have a 30 minute swim and no one was there. So relaxing!
