Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre, you immediately get that polished business hotel vibe — but in the best way possible. The lobby feels modern without being cold, and honestly, the staff here actually seems to know what they’re doing. I mean, you can tell this is a four-star property that takes itself seriously, but there’s none of that stuffy formality that makes you feel like you need to whisper.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Lyon Street — you’re basically in the heart of Ottawa without the chaos you’d expect. The Parliament Buildings are close enough that you can walk there in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with constant tourist crowds right outside your door. What I really love is how walkable everything is from here. You’ve got the Rideau Centre for shopping, tons of restaurants within a few blocks, and if you’re into the whole government district thing (which, let’s face it, is why most people come to Ottawa), you’re perfectly positioned. Couples especially seem to get this — they rate the location 9.3, and I totally understand why.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d hope for from Marriott — clean lines, comfortable bed, and that slightly corporate but reliable feel. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything works properly, which is honestly more than you can say for a lot of places these days. The windows are decent-sized, so you actually get some natural light, and if you’re lucky enough to get a higher floor, the city views are pretty solid. The bathroom is well-designed too — good water pressure and enough counter space that you’re not playing Tetris with your toiletries.
Dining & Amenities
Breakfast here is actually worth getting up for, which surprised me a bit. They do this buffet setup with vegetarian and vegan options that go beyond the usual sad fruit plate — I’m talking proper plant-based dishes that someone clearly put thought into. The American classics are there too if that’s your thing, but I appreciated that they didn’t just phone it in for dietary restrictions. There’s a restaurant on-site that’s decent for dinner, though honestly, with Ottawa’s food scene right at your doorstep, you might want to venture out. Parking is available, which in downtown Ottawa is actually a bigger deal than you might think.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sets this place apart? It’s reliable in all the ways that matter when you’re traveling. The location means you can actually walk to most of what you came to Ottawa to see, the service is consistently good without being overbearing, and everything just… works. It’s not trying to be the most Instagram-worthy hotel in the city, but when you’re here for business or sightseeing and you want a solid home base, this Delta delivers exactly what it promises. Plus, that 9.3 location rating from couples isn’t just marketing fluff — when you’re exploring the city together, being able to walk everywhere really does make a difference.
Apartments in Ottawa suit remote workers with co-working lounges, riverfront balconies, and fresh produce from Lansdowne markets.

Overall experience was decent.
Alana from Canada (8/10)
Extremely comfortable beds, and large rooms. My friend was from Europe and she loved the space and that we both had a Queen sized bed. Toiletries available smell very good and I got compliments by some ladies in the elevator." It's the hotel shampoo" I said! We had breakfast in the hotel and both very satisfied and the waiter was great. We didn't opt for the buffet which seemed overpriced. We ordered from the menu.
Pool is amazing! I managed to have a 30 minute swim and no one was there. So relaxing!
